World of Bluegrass to bring $9.9m to local economy

Nancy McFarlane: “Bluegrass enthusiasts and Raleigh businesses alike are celebrating news that our city will host the World of Bluegrass Convention and Music Festival, September 23-29, 2013. The event is expected to draw 16,000+ and is expected to charge our local economy with over $9.9 million in tourism dollars. The World of Bluegrass selected Raleigh because of the fantastic variety of performance spaces and venues that the city has to offer, the two major draws being our new convention center and outdoor amphitheater. Both the convention center and amphitheater continue to generate incredible revenue, fueling local small business growth and development.”
